Two-Way Tuesday : Pink Pastels

This week on Two-Way Tuesday, I'm going to be doing something a little different. Instead of a pair of outfits that I've worn, I'll be utilizing Polyvore.com and Modcloth.com

Polyvore.com is a great site for creating dream outfits for yourself, almost like you're your own stylist. There are countless options to choose from, and there's a feature where if you see something online, you can clip it to polyvore and save it for later!

I created two boards using items from one of my absolute favorite clothing sites, Modcloth.com! They have fun, quirky, eclectic, and retro-inspired clothing that can really suit anyone! They also include plus sizes, and I've loved pretty much everything I've ever bought there.

The item I've chosen to style from Modcloth is the Femme Finesse Top, which I've been watching and admiring, and I can't wait til it goes on sale so I can snatch it up! It's a part of a new collection collaboration with blogger Nicolette Mason, and it's full of cute stuff for everyone, from a size XS-4X!

The first outfit is fun and flirty; full of florals and whimsical items. Pastels can still work in the Fall season! I just love pink, and the bracelet seen here is one of my absolute favorite accessories of all time!

Click here to shop the board!

The next outfit is Menswear inspired, including a fun tote, quirky booties, and awesome high-waisted jeans. This is a plus-sized outfit that I wish I had! It's so colorful, and who doesn't love a good dark-washed jean?

Click here to shop the board!

That's all for Two-Way Tuesday from me, but as a bonus, here's a fun illustration showcasing the two outfits together!

You can check out a short video of the drawing/painting process here.

Two-Way Tuesday - Tweed Textured Jacket

It's time for this week's Two-Way Tuesday, a link-up series hosted by Valery of I'm Getting There

Today I'm styling a wonderful tweed textured jacket that I got from Target. It's in the style of a peplum, with some colorblocking and a mandarin collar. With the ever increasing Fall temperatures, it's the perfect light jacket for both work and for casual attire.

The first look pairs the lacket with my favorite pencil skirt and some black wedges. It was really windy and overcast today! I love the unique lines that this outfit has - definitely different than the usual blazer and skirt, and I love that!

Jacket: Target
Skirt: Torrid
Wedges: Thrifted

The second look pairs it with low boots and skinny jeans. A pashmina completes the perfect early fall outfit! Skinny jeans can go with anything and make it look good!

Jeans: Forever 21
Pashmina/Scarf: Charming Charlie's
Boots: Payless Shoesource

Two-Way Tuesday: Teal Polka Dots

Another segment of Two-Way Tuesdays is under way! This week I'm styling one of my favorite casual dresses, The Day Off the Grid Dress from Modcloth! Jewel colors are big this fall, so it's perfect for transitioning between seasons. I don't usually care much for shorter hems, but this dress is one of my exceptions.

The first outfit uses simple accessories to make a simple dress fun for a day out or an evening with the girls.

Accessories: Charming Charlie's
Shoes and Dress: Modcloth

The second outfit was perfect for a cooler day in Dallas. I'm hoping that the cooler weather will stick around for a while. Some tights, booties, and a cardigan turns a sundress into a fun fall outfit!

Cardigan and Dress: Modcloth
Tights and Booties: Target

With the ever changing temperatures in Dallas, it's always good to have an item of clothing that works in warmer and cooler weather. Have a great week and tune in next time for another two-way Tuesday!

Two-Way Tuesday: The Classic Pencil Skirt

It's time for another segment of Two-Way Tuesday!
Once again, my link up with Valery of I'm Getting There! is under way! A little late today, but I decided to show you a couple of ways to style the classic pencil skirt! It's probably one of the most versatile pieces of work-wear you can own, and it flatters virtually everyone.

The first outfit is perfect for work, a black skirt with a colorful top and black pumps or wedges works for any day of the week.

Top: Target
Envelope styled pencil skirt: Torrid
Blazer: Target
Wedges: Crocs

The second outfit you've seen before! It's a great way to look chic for a casual setting like going out shopping or hanging out with friends. A white t-shirt and booties makes for a fun twist!

Top: Target
Booties: Target
Skirt: Torrid

That's all for this segment, tune in next week for another Two-Way Tuesday! Don't forget to visit Valery on your way out!

Two-Way Tuesday: Styling a Plain White T-Shirt

Once again, it's time for Two-Way Tuesday! If you're new to the challenge, I'm linking up with my good friend Valery of I'm Getting There! The challenge is to take one item of clothing and style it two different ways.

This week I'm taking a plain white t-shirt and giving it a two-way twist!

The first outfit is great for work or going out with the girls or significant other. A T-Shirt looks great paired with a pencil skirt, and for fall, my favorite booties just can't be beat! T-shirts are so easy to come by, and they can be wonderful for your budget! Mine is from Target, while the skirt is from Torrid. Sunglasses and gold accessories finish off the look.

This look has got to be one of my favorites now, I feel so confident and chic! Who knew that a t-shirt would make a girl feel so good about herself?

Ready for the runway!
The second look is a lot more casual. It's also great for fall because of the blazer. T-shirts and Jeans are a classic look, and it's great on anybody! Add the blazer and some brightly colored flats for a slightly dressed up feel. The jeans are from Wrangler, and are probably the most comfortable boot-legs that I've ever owned. The red flats are also among my favorite wardrobe pieces, from Modcloth.

It's a good look to just throw on and go. Errands, shopping, a leisurely walk around the mall... it's versatile for many reasons. It's also comfortable, so you're not sacrificing comfort for style!

It's also great without the blazer, if a bit more on the casual side.

Two-Way Tuesday: Prepping for Fall in Texas

Welcome again to another segment of Two-Way Tuesday! This is a blog challenge issued and linked up by my good friend Valery of I'm Getting There! Be sure to stop by her blog and check her out (and the others who participate)!

Today we're looking at a couple of ways to style a pair of ankle booties. These booties I got from Target, and they're absolutely adorable! I love them to death, and I know they'll be a staple in my Fall wardrobe!

You can buy them online here!

They're super cute and comfortable too!
The first outfit takes a maxi skirt and turns it into a midi skirt (I think). The skirt and top are both from Torrid, a great plus size shop that has plenty of trendy and cute things for women size 12 and up.

I folded the waistband a couple of times and added a skinny belt. Some gold and black accessories top it all off. It's a fun and funky outfit that's great for the non-fall temperatures here in Dallas.

If you're a plus size gal, Torrid's a great place to go!

The second outfit I wore to a charity event, which I had the pleasure of painting at! It's a cute print dress also from Target to go with my booties. It's a great novelty print, and I'm sure it'll be wonderful in many different outfits to come.

You can check out the event I went to in a previous post

Bonus outfit: Here's another way I styled my maxi skirt! With a loose top and scarf, it's a great casual outfit for on the go. The gladiator sandals I got from Charming Charlie's.

Tune in next week for another Two-Way Tuesday!

Two-Way Tuesday Challenge!

At the encouragement of some of my new blogger friends here in Dallas, I've been challenged every Tuesday to feature an outfit done two ways. Others who will be participating in this link up challenge are my friends Sevi, Addie, Elysa, and Valery (She's the one who started this whole idea)!
You should check out their blogs, they're all great!!

I know this post is a tad late for a Tuesday, but I was busy working on a school assignment.

That's right, school's back in session for me! I'm working on my MFA in Illustration at the Academy of Art University of San Francisco. It's all online, and I'm starting my third year there. I've had classes on Head Drawing, Figure Drawing, Illustration concepts and techniques, and now I'm taking an Editorial Illustration class and a Perspective class.

Here's a preview of my first assignment for the week:

This took so long.. this class is going to be a doozy.
Anyways, back to the outfit post! I chose to style my gorgeous black full skirt, from Eshakti.

Eshakti is a great online source for really unique dresses and skirts, and can be customized to your unique size or you can choose standard sizing. They range from a size 0-36W! It's a great place for plus size ladies like me, though it can be a little pricey.
I suggest watching out for their sales and their Buy 2 Get 1 Free deals!

The first styling is one I came up with a little while back. The full skirt goes great with a button-up top for a Pin-Up inspired look. A colorful tank or cami with a statement necklace and shoes pull it all together.

Cami and Blouse - Old Navy
Skirt - Eshakti.com
Shoes - Modcloth.com
Accessories - Charming Charlie's

Fun and flirty with a tied blouse for a Pin-Up inspired look!

The second look is a little more laid back, perfect for an outing with the girls. You'll recognize this from my post about the Blogger Fashion Shoot!

Plum Purple looks great with Black, and White wedges give it a nice bit of contrast. It's all knit fabric, so it's super comfortable, but definitely better suited for early fall!!

I'm always aware of how much I spend on each piece of clothing, and Ross and Payless are great sources for affordable fashion! The earrings featured here were made by a friend for me based on one of my very first fashion illustrations.

Top - Ross
Skirt - Eshakti.com
Shoes- Payless
Earrings - Custom Made
Tote - Society6.com

Casual and cute, the perfect pairing!
