Sunday Funday at Top Vintage LLC!

Today I had a wonderful chance to see my friend Heather at LA Fashion Snob put on an amazing fashion show at Top Vintage LLC! I got to set up a table, paint, and see an amazing vintage clothing shop over by I-610 and 288! I took a lot of pictures of the events, and all of the looks that Heather put together looked amazing! This is just going to be an image post, so enjoy!

Prints, original paintings, custom cards, and more!

 These ladies were killing it!

Other bloggers who attended and took some awesome pictures!

So many cute and amazing looks, I can't pick a favorite!

It's always great to see models of every size, shape, and style! These ladies were awesome today!

More amazing looks!

Heather's last look was awesome! That headdress and kimono are gorgeous!

I got to do a quick sketch of some of my favorite looks as a gift for Heather! :)

I would definitely suggest you stop by Top Vintage LLC! They have some awesome looking stuff, and I know if I want to go thrift shopping/vintage shopping anytime soon, I'm going there!

Until next time!

Holiday Events with Tootsie's and Jonathan's Place

Yesterday and today I had a wonderful opportunity to do some more sketching for events!
Tootsie's was having a wonderful trunk show for Sheryl Lowe Designs. The jewelry was beautiful, with gemstones and sparkling silver and gold - I wish Sheryl well with her collection!

I had a wonderful time sketching customers, everyone seemed to have a great time and I met a lot of great people. Courtney Edwards from francisco+co was so kind to bring me in for this, and I look forward to more in the future. Live sketching has turned out to be a great way to network and meet all kinds of people. I met photographers, event planners, and so many more people!

As it turns out, my husband got an offer for some jobs in Houston. We may be moving away from Dallas - and hopefully this networking and the new skills I've learned will help me in my new home! (It's not set in stone yet, but it's a pretty good chance we will be moving)

The second event I sketched at was today, for a charity fundraiser for Jonathan's Place - a benefit for abused and abandoned children. It was an event held in the home of Ksenia Gonchar, a wonderful lady who was kind enough to invite me in for this wonderful event!

There were plenty of other people to draw and sketch - and more networking was to be had! So many fashionable and fabulous people are in Dallas! When my husband and I have to move, I will miss them!

Not only was there sketching to be had, but the charity also had a silent auction! So many wonderful things were donated, from Dallas Star Jerseys and autographs to beautiful works of art and jewelry! Lublu from the Plaza at Preston was also there with their beautiful clothing! It was great to see friendly faces and meet new ones as well.

By the end of the day, I had done plenty of drawing - and everyone seemed to have a great time. I hope I get to draw at another event like this again, it's so much fun! I also get to push myself and challenge myself to create illustrations quickly.

I will miss Dallas when we move, but I will definitely come visit for any event that might need my drawing hand!

Sketching Lovely Ladies

This past Friday I had the pleasure of being a part of a lady's 80th birthday. An event planner named Debbie invited me to do some fashion sketching. It was a great event at the Ritz-Carlton, and I had a great time drawing the ladies who attended!

The table was set up across from where the attendees had their luncheon, and there was a cute little stand to showcase what our entertainment was. It was a beautiful room!

I was accompanied with another sketch artist named Gloria Jones. She was such a charming lady, and I was impressed by her sketching style! It was so fun to watch her work, and it was nice to have a kindred spirit to work with throughout the afternoon. You can find more of her work at her website: http://www.partyillustrations.biz/

We were drawing on linen handkerchiefs, so it was an entirely new experience for me. It was a challenge to draw on them, but after some testing with the fabric markers, I managed to adapt.

The sketches below are some of the handkerchiefs that I did. Older ladies are a subject I've never really drawn before, so it's just another subject that I learned that I need to expand upon.

If you have an event coming up in Dallas, Debbie is a great event planner! You can check out her business here: http://dvpevents.com/

Such a fun event with lovely, charming ladies!

PEF Foundation Charity Fashion Show

I am pleased to have been a part of the charity event with the PEF foundation tonight! I had a table set up and did live paintings for guests who wanted them for a small fee. A percentage of the sales were donated back to the foundation.

A look at my table tonight, set up with paints, gold and silver gouache, paper, business cards... everything!

It was a lot of fun and I got to meet all sorts of interesting people! The fashion show was wonderful, and the sketch I did of the runway got sold to one of the beautiful models!

A few of the paintings were of other Dallas Bloggers from the Dallas Blogger Collective (of which I'm also a member) and I was so happy that they liked them!

Aren't these ladies cute! Hoping to find out what their blogs are so I can follow them!

I hope to do more events like this in the future, and I hope you'll check out the charity foundation. They're raising awareness for a great cause!

Tonight I wore a dress and shoes I got just from Target. A cute novelty print and wedge booties are just the items I needed to add to my fall wardrobe!

You'll see these booties again for an upcoming Two-Way Tuesday!

Amazing Week!

The past few days have been really wonderful! Thursday, I met the ladies of the Southwest Blogger Society at the Tootsie's Fall Preview Event. I took my sketch pad and some paints, planning on sketching a few of the designs.

What I didn't expect was how eager everyone was to watch me and learn more about what I was doing!! It was an amazing experience as ladies asked to be drawn, and getting to know them was a real treat!

The first request was from this lovely lady, Mia! She was so excited to get her drawing done, I couldn't stop smiling!! It was through her that others made their requests, and from that I gained new friendships!

I am so eager for what is to come, after this event I have gotten emails about attending other events, and have been invited to hang out with the girls again!

It was their genuine kindness and generosity that has made me hopefulfor the  future in my art, and I can't wait!!
