The Lone Star Looking Glass' Personal Styling event at Anthropologie

Yesterday I had a chance to go to an awesome event at Anthropoligie at Highland Village here in Houston! It was a Personal Styling event hosted by Alice of The Lone Star Looking Glass! I don't go to Anthropologie very often, but every time I visit one, the stores are always so fun and elegant and full of wonderful clothing (I just wish their sizes went up to a 16!!).

The store workers and stylists set up the venue wonderfully, and there were plenty of Southern style sweets and drinks available to guests.

Alice had a couple of racks set up with fun outfits for various occasions. A weekend getaway, a concert, out on the beach, date night and more! Her style was refreshing, airy, and comfortable - what's not to like?

Here are some pics from the venue, including a couple close ups of Amber's outfits.

Later during the event, Alice got a chance to tell us about her outfits - and one of the big things about her styling preferences is to always dress in threes! I really liked this tip, because it takes a simple top and bottom and makes it more engaging and personal by adding either a hat, necklace or a scarf. I'll have to remember this tip for later!

Overall, the event I think was a huge blast! I got to meet several other bloggers in the area, like Whitney of The Observant Turtle and Amber of Amber-Oliver.com

It's nice to be able to get to know people you follow, and I feel a little more at home here in Houston outside of family. I'm hoping to be able to attend more of these events - this was a wonderful and fun gathering!

I didn't get a chance to take a snapshot of my Outfit of the Day for the event, so I painted it instead! I wore my vintage skirt from the Lone Star Vintage trunk show (you can read about it here) paired with a tank top and a chambray shirt. To finish it off, a red necklace and red chunky wedges!

Until next time!

  1. Yeah this Personal Styling event at Anthropologie was really great. My sister also attended this event and sent the pictures to me. Now she is coming to Houston and I want to host a welcome party for her. I just saw a few party venues in Houston on Eventup.com and would book one of those venues for my party.
